The Year 3/4 class is holding a Long Walk Refugee Shoe Making Workshop. This will be held in the year 3/4 class room. Volunteers from the Remida Reuse Centre will supply some materials and help the Year 3/4 students with making shoes.
In STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Maths), the Year 3/4 class will develop an understanding of refugee camps and the problems associated with the loss of personal belongings, such as shoes. The students will be using collaborative learning and problem-solving skills. They will design and create a wearable pair of shoes made from repurposed materials that might be found in refugee camps.
